Your Shape Fitness Evolved Nivea DLC (free add on)

Recently my fitness efforts have ramped up a bit with a morning run. This seems to be accentuating middle aged spread somehow, but I guess that’s another issue. When I come back from my run I tend to do either a session on Your Shape or a workout from a fitness DVD. This makes me feel virtuous. I have to admit, that what I like most about the Your Shape is the way that you can see calories being burnt.

One of the workouts I have been doing is the Nivea Tone-up workout routine. It’s one of the Your Shape: Fitness Evolved’s all-new and free exercises. Developed with top fitness expert Sarah Maxwell and Nivea, this new workout focuses on full-body toning.

What is nice about the workout is that it manages to combine skin care with fitness as the program also incorporates recommendations for NIVEA’s skincare products, such as Q10 Firming Body Lotion and Good-bye Cellulite Gel Cream. This is great, because after all that exercise it’s really nice to have a bit of pampering.

One criticism of the workout is that it is quite similar to the standard personal trainer workouts that I have done with Your Shape. However, as its free I guess that isn’t really too much of a problem as it does have added features. I really liked using the creams which Nivea gave me to spur me on as the thought of a bit of pampering really helped.

Has it made a difference? I’m not sure as, for me, it’s all part of a whole fitness regime. I do like the fact that you can use your dumbbells because I find that my arms need quite a bit of toning and its very hard to achieve this unless you run with wrist weights. I also like that fact that it’s 15 minutes long (perfect for either a short go at it in the evening, or for a workout after a run) with different options. The music is perfect for this sort of workout and I think it really makes a difference. If you want to have a little go, you can download it directly from the Xbox Live Marketplace

Whilst I’m telling you about YourShape, which I really think is pretty good if you can keep using it (I admit that this is hard with small kids hanging off your leg), I need to tell you about the most fun workout I have found so far: “Dance Workout: Bollywood”, a high impact dance workout using popular Bollywood dance moves. This is one that you have to pay for, but it is the MOST fun I have ever had from a console based workout. Basically you learn lots of different Bollywood dances and I guarantee you will have fun along the way. I love it.

So there you go, if you have an Xbox and Your Shape then you should get the Sarah Maxwell for Nivea workout, not only is it free, but it’s a great one for toning the arms, burning a few calories and encouraging you to do a bit of pampering. Then, if you fancy a change buy the Bollywood workout, it’s great fun and you’ll enjoy it!
