Eisberg Non Alcoholic Wine

eisberg[1]Before I had kids I would have laughed at the idea of alcohol free wine, now being pregnant with my third child I can really see the appeal. I was contacted by Eisberg and asked if I wanted to try their alcohol free wines, now, as I am daily driven to drink and unable to partake in it this seemed perfect. Joking aside, I do enjoy a nice glass of wine in moderation and it is something that I miss. Having never had alcohol free wine before this proved interesting.

Eisberg alcohol free wine has a third of the calories of a normal glass of wine and is made in exactly the same way as normal wine, at the end the alcohol is removed.

So what did I think? Well, it was nice to have a glass of wine without the guilt. The Chardonnay was a little bit sweet for me and didn’t seem a great deal different to normal grape juice, however the Cabernet Sauvignon was authentic tasting and rather lovely. I’m a fan of very dry white wines so maybe that was the problem with the Chardonnay and why the red tasted so much better in comparison.

However, it really did make a nice change to have a glass of wine during dinner and this felt like a treat without the guilt. Eisberg strikes me as a brilliant alternative for drivers at dinner parties and those on a diet, as you don’t feel quite as left out when everyone else in indulging in a glass of wine.

I can see myself buying this in future, as to be honest I don’t really enjoy the hangover you get with wine, especially when you have to get up at the crack of dawn with a child. I think I have found the perfect solution…
