Asda Play and Learn Toys

Asda have just launched a new range of toys, you can see a few images to the left. Now, I must admit that I had not considered them a toy retailer until I went along to their Christmas in July event which was fabulous. I was totally amazed at the great value toys they had on offer, a wooden dolls house for under fifty quid for example! The new Play and Learn toys are aimed at preschoolers and to celebrate the re-launch of the range Asda is going to donate one hundred thousand pounds to Tommy’s Baby charity each year. That’s pretty good isn’t it?

We were sent the Baby’s Phone which retails at £3. This is a robust little toy suitable from 6- 12 months (so I let the kids have a little play and put it to one side for baby number 3). It has bright and colourful buttons which make appealing noises, well, my kids couldn’t stop pressing them, and a mirror. In my experience children love this sort of toy and the fact its so cheap makes it a no brainer. Well worth the money.
Fifi and Boy were gifted the Play and Learn 26 Wooden Blocks £3 and the Play and Learn Alphabet Blocks £5. The Alphabet blocks were particularly good because boy is currently learning to read and write. They seemed good quality, although perhaps a little bit smaller than I would have liked. However in terms of value for money they are exceptionally good.
Overall the entire range does represent really good value for money and its accessible. If you are looking for a gift for a pre-schooler I don’t think you can go far wrong and as you can pick them up with the weekly shop they make for a really stress-free gift! There are nearly 200 products in the range so plenty of choice. You can see them here
